The Phoenix Win Big Against the Raiders

On Wednesday, the Renaissance Phoenix (4-3, DPSL) defeated the Ecorse Raiders (2-2, MMAC-Black) by a score of 86-63. 

The game started with Ecorse going on a 9-2 run. The Raiders came out hot and quickly built a 7-point lead. The Phoenix bounced right back and went on a 15-3 run of their own, taking a 17-12 lead into the second quarter. 

Renaissance began to pull away in the second quarter. They started the second going on a 15-0 run, building their lead to 32-12. Ecorse found their footing and were able to get points on the board, but Renaissance could not be stopped. The Phoenix took a 44-28 lead into halftime. 

The second half was played relatively close on the offensive end, but Renaissance still had the edge, outscoring the Raiders 42-36 in the second half. The Phoenix would go on to win 86-63.

Jordan Sigmon, Lance Stone, and Marcellus Phillips all had nice games for the Phoenix. Sigmon went 9 of 16 from the floor with 2 of 7 from three and 6 of 7 from the free throw line. He scored 26 points with 1 steal and 4 rebounds. 

Stone went 8 of 16 from the field with 2 of 5 from beyond the arc and 2 of 2 from the free throw line. He had 20 points, 1 steal, 1 assist, and 4 rebounds. 

Phillips was 7 of 11 from the floor with 4 of 6 from three. He scored 18 points with 4 steals and 4 rebounds. 

Renaissance will play Hammond Bishop Noll on 1-2. Ecorse will take on Brownstown Woodhaven (4-1, DL) on 1-6.
