Technicians Win Boys PSL Title

On Sunday, the Cass Tech Technicians (21-0, DPSL) defeated the Detroit King Crusaders (10-7,
DPSL) by a score of 74-70 in the PSL title game.
At the start of the game, the Crusaders outplayed the Technicians. Much of the first quarter was
back and forth. But King eventually built a lead and was ahead 17-11 after the first.
The Crusaders continued their dominance in the second quarter. They outscored the undefeated
Cass Tech 14-11 and took a 31-22 lead into halftime.
Cass Tech went on a 6-0 run to start the third quarter, cutting the lead down to 3. But the
Crusaders had answers. Both sides score 13 points in the quarter, giving King a 44-35 lead going
into the fourth.
The Technicians found their groove in the fourth quarter. They outscored King 29-20, tying the
game at 64 with under a minute remaining and forcing overtime.
Cass Tech scored first in overtime, and they did not look back. After losing for most of the game,
they finally had the lead. They outscored King 10-6 in OT and went on to win 74-70.
Darius Acuff and Kenneth Robertson had good games for Cass Tech. Acuff was 7 of 19 from the
floor, including 3 of 7 from three, as well as 10 of 10 from the free throw line. He had 27 points,
an assist, and 4 rebounds. Robertson was 7 of 11 from the field, including 1 of 2 from beyond the
arc, as well as 3 of 6 from the free throw line. He had 18 points, a steal, and a rebound.
