Shamrocks Defeat Eaglets inConference Victory

On Wednesday, the Catholic Central Shamrocks (21-1-0, MIHL-North) defeated the Orchard

Lake St. Mary’s Eaglets (13-7-1, MIHL-North) by a score of 3-1.

The Shamrocks opened the scoring, thanks to a beautiful goal by Devesh KC. Catholic Central

had a 1-0 lead with 9:48 left in the first.

With 1:43 left in the opening period, Andrew Urbain would snipe the puck into the back of the

net for a power play goal, giving the Shamrocks a 2-0 lead going into the first intermission.

The score remained the same until the third period. The Eaglets would finally get on the board

after a beautiful short-handed goal by Hunter Morris with 11:30 left in regulation.

Around four minutes later, the Shamrocks would answer. Cael Rogowski would score with 7:19

remaining in regulation, giving his team a 3-1 lead. The Shamrocks would go on to win by this

score. Andrew Urbain was awarded the GBrand Player of the Game.

CC goalie Luca Naurato play great in net, making 13 saves on 14 shots faced. OLSM goalie

Michael Fett played great as well, making 33 saves on 36 shots faced.

Catholic Central will play Livonia Stevenson (16-5-0, KLAA) on 2-11 as they look to build off

the win. St. Mary’s will play Brother Rice (15-8-0, MIHL-North) on 2-11 as they will try to get a

bounce back victory.
