Lutheran North set to take on #10 Royal Oak Shrine in CHSL Semifinal

Nick Lundberg | Tuesday | May 20, 2022 | 11:50am

The first game features 13-8 Lutheran North and 23-3 Royal Oak Shrine, who is ranked 10th in the state according to The PreP.

Senior Kyle Pretzer will be on the mound to start for Lutheran. The Calvin commit was a Macomb County All-Star last season. He paints the zone very nicely as his changeup has a lot of movement to it. His fastball also hangs in the mid 80s.

For Shrine, Michigan State commit Stephen Ruhle gets the start on the bump. The right handers fast ball reaches the upper 80s and he compliments that with a curveball and a changeup.

Offensively, two players to keep an eye on in this matchup are senior Carter Penn for North and senior Owen Pullis for Shrine.

The two outfielders have had some notable outings at the plate, as Penn recorded two doubles, a triple and 4 runs batted in against Almost. Pullis on the other hand finished with five hits, a triple, and the game winning RBI against OLL.

First year Head Coach James Lazaris and Lutheran North will attempt to take down the formidable Dan Noble and Shrine at 12 P.M. ET.
