North Farmington Takes Down the Colts

On Monday, the North Farmington Raiders (18-1, OAA Red) defeated the Troy Colts (18-7, OAA White) by a score of 54-48. 

The Raiders jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter. They started the game by going on an 8-0 run. The Colts bounced back and went on a 9-2 run, making it a 10-9 game. Despite this, the Raiders held on and took a 19-13 lead into the second quarter. 

North Farmington began to add to their lead in the second quarter, leading by as much as 16. In the quarter, they had the advantage and led 37-24 going into the half. 

The Colts began to make a run in the third quarter. They outscored the Raiders 14-10. But it was the fourth quarter where this game got interesting. 

Going into the fourth, the Raiders led 37-48. For most of the game, North Farmington had somewhat of a comfortable lead. That changed. 

With just over three minutes remaining, the Colts cut the lead to three, completely shifting the momentum. They ended up outscoring the Raiders 10-7 in the quarter but were unable to take the lead. North Farmington went on to win 54-48. 

The G of the Game was Tyler Spratt, who had 8 points and 10 rebounds. Spratt was asked whether people should pay attention to North Farmington. He said “Just stay awake. That’s it. We’re trying to make a name. Just stay awake.”

Mason Parker was the leading scorer for Troy with 17 points. 

North Farmington will take on Orchard Lake (12-10, CHSL-C) on 3-15 for the MHSAA Regional.
