North Farmington Stay Undefeated After Dominant Performance

On Thursday night, the North Farmington Raiders (4-0, OAA-Red) defeated the Hamtramck Cosmos (3-2, MMAC-Black) by a score of 60-39. The game marked the first time these two teams faced off in their history. 

The game got off to a slow start offensively. Within the first two minutes, the teams had five turnovers combined, while only scoring a single bucket in that time. 

The scoring picked up around the 5:50 mark of the first quarter. North Farmington and Hamtramck traded baskets, as the talent of these players was starting to be displayed. 

At the 4:53 point of the first quarter, North Farmington would take a 6-5 lead. Though Hamtramck would cut it close at points, North Farmington held onto the lead until the end of the game. 

The Raiders ended the first quarter on a 4-0 run, taking a 16-11 lead into the second quarter. North picked up where they left off, taking a 26-15 lead with four minutes left in the half. 

The Cosmos clawed their way back, going on a 5-0 run to end the second quarter and cutting the Raider lead down to six going into the half. 

The third quarter is where North began to run away with the game. They started the half with a 6-0 run, doubling their lead. The Raiders went on to outscore Hamtramck 16-6 in the third and take a 42-26 lead into the fourth quarter. 

North Farmington continued their domination early in the fourth, outscoring the Cosmos 12-3 in the first six minutes of the quarter. The home crowd was fired up with their team leading 54-26. 

Hamtramck went on a bit of a run in the final two and a half minutes, outscoring North Farmington 13-6. Unfortunately, it was not enough, and the Raiders went on to win by a score of 60-39. 

Tyler Spratt and Ryan Hurst combined for half of North Farmington’s points. Spratt was 5 for 9 from the field, including 3 of 6 from three. He at 13 points, 7 rebounds, 1 block, and 1 steal. Hurst 7 of 14 from the field, including 1 of 4 from three. He had 17 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and 3 steals. 

North Farmington will look to remain undefeated as they take on Ypsilanti Lincoln (1-1, SC-R) on 12-17. Hamtramck is hoping to bounce back from this loss as they play Detroit Community (0-0, CSC-West) on 12-18.
