Mustangs Extend Win Streak to 4

On Tuesday, the Marian Mustangs (8-13, CHSL-Central) defeated the Orchard Lake St. Mary’s
Eaglets (8-11, CHSL Intersectional #1) by a score of 50-42.
The began started off with Marian taking an early lead. They led by as much as five in the first
quarter and held this lead for most of the first. The Eaglets did take the lead late in the quarter,
but Marian got it back and took a 10-9 lead into the second.
In the second quarter, the Eaglets had the momentum. They outscored the Mustangs 11-9,
holding a slight 20-19 lead going into halftime.
The Eaglets continued their success in the third quarter, outscoring Marian 14-13 and taking a
34-32 lead into the fourth. Despite being down, the Mustangs continued to fight and stayed in
this game.
The fourth quarter is where momentum shifted. The Mustangs outscored the Eaglets 18-8. They
regained the lead and went on to win 50-42. The victory gives Marian a 4-game winning streak.
The GBrand G of the Game was awarded to McKenzie Swanson. She was 8 of 17 from the floor,
as well as 5 of 10 from the free throw line. She had a double-double with 21 points, 16 rebounds,
a block, and a steal.
Marian will take on CMA (10-9, DPSL-Gold) on 2-23 as they look to extend their win streak.
Orchard Lake will play Regina (6-12, CHSL-C) on 2-23 as they attempt to bounce back from
this loss.
