Lutheran North takes down #10 Royal Oak Shrine, moves on to cardinal Final

The first of the four game Friday CHSL semi final slate at Comerica Park featured a dazzling performance from Calvin commit Kyle Pretzer as Lutheran North defeated #10 R.O. Shrine 3-0.

The senior Pretzer threw a complete seven inning shutout, recording ten strikeouts in the outing. He was named the G Brand G of game one.

On the other side, Michigan State commit Stephen Ruhle had a solid day on the mound, but ultimately did not have any run support to get the job done. He went the full seven innings and tallied nine Ks, but gave up three runs and that was all it took for Lutheran North to take home the win.

Offensively for the Mustangs, junior Jimmy Bullaro had a very noteworthy afternoon at the plate.

The first baseman and right handed pitcher went 3-4, with all three of his hits accounting for one base each. His second hit scored the game's first run, as that would have been all the Mustangs needed.

For the Knights, they could not get anything going at the plate against Pretzer. Junior Owen Kelly did have a decent day in the batter’s box though, as he went 2-3 with two singles and a steal.

With the win, first year head coach James Lazaris and Lutheran North will take on Divine Child this Tuesday at 3 pm ET at Warrior Complex in Troy in the Cardinal final. Stay tuned as we will have coverage of that game.
