Lutheran North set to take on Divine Child in Cardinal final

In the first of two CHSL finals being played this afternoon at Warrior Complex in Troy, first year Head Coach James Lazaris and the Lutheran North Mustangs will take on Dan Deegan and Divine Child.

The Mustangs will start Calvin commit Connor Comiskey. The All-Catholic senior features a power fastball along with a changeup and a curveball. His last time out against Riverview Gabriel Richard he threw a seven inning shutout. 

For Divine Child, senior Jack Zang will be on the bump first. The left hander has a fastball that reaches 90 MPH and a breaking ball that has an average spin rate of 2,233 to boot. On the season, he is 2-1 with a .77 earned run average and 48 strikeouts in just over 23 innings of work.

At the plate for the Mustangs, junior Jimmy Bullaro will be one to keep an eye out for. In the semi final against #10 Royal Oak Shrine, The first baseman and right handed pitcher went 3-4, with all three of his hits accounting for one base each. 

On the other hand for Divine Child, Grand Valley commit Owen Avery will look to have another big day in the batter’s box. On top of pitching a 14 strikeout shutout, the senior right hander and third baseman recorded a triple, a walk, and a steal.
