Brock Porter and #1 St. Mary’s Prep. no-hit Detroit Catholic Central, advance to Bishop final

Projected top-15 MLB draft pick Brock Porter was sensational again as the number one team in the country, the Eaglets, took down the Shamrocks in the finale of the four game CHSL semi final slate Friday at Comerica Park.
The Clemson commit Porter threw a 16 strikeout no-hitter to earn himself G Brand G of the Game honors.
The Shamrocks threw four different pitchers at the Eaglets, and it turned out to be pretty effective.
Sophomore Braylon Laroo started on the mound and threw just over two scoreless innings. Junior Nick Lopez then came in during the third inning and almost got to the fourth innings before fellow junior Trey Langan came in to relieve him of his duties. The right hander only gave up one run on the next play, but four Eaglets came into score as two errors in the field were made and that was all the Eaglets needed to take home the win. Langan lasted until the sixth inning and sophomore Myles Sorn completed the day for C.C, not allowing an Eaglet to touch a base.
Michigan State commit Jake Dresselhouse was the one to drive in the first run for the Eaglets in the fourth, and on that same play, he found himself crossing the plate because of back-to-back field errors by the Shamrocks. Those were the only runs scored by the Eaglets in the whole game, a rare low-scoring occurrence for the squad.
As usual, no one had an answer for Brock Porter. The most any Shamrock batter could do was draw a walk.
With the win, Matt Petry and the Eaglets keep their perfect season bid alive and move on to Bishop final to face #6 Brother Rice in a rematch of last year’s final. They will face the Warriors on their home turf at 5:30 pm ET on Tuesday. Stay tuned for coverage of that matchup.
