Eagles Fly Past the Cavaliers

On Saturday, the Hudsonville Eagles (8-4, OK-Red) defeated the Flint Carman Cavaliers (6-6, SV) by a score of 56-49.

The game began with both teams coming out strong. The first quarter was evenly played as the Eagles and the Cavaliers traded baskets. The game was tied going into the second quarter.

It was in the second quarter where, with 5:50 remaining, the Eagles took the lead and held on for the remainder of the game. They took a 27-21 lead into halftime.

As the game continued, the Eagles continued to hold off the Cavaliers. No matter what Flint Carman did, Hudsonville had an answer. They prevented from Cavaliers from being able to make a comeback and went on to win 56-49.

Griffin Baker was the GBrand G of the Game. He went 4 of 7 from the floor, including 4 of 6 from beyond the arc. He had 12 points, 3 rebounds, an assist and a steal.

Gibson Heethuis also had a good game. He was 3 of 8 from the field, including 2 of 4 from three and 2 of 2 from the free throw line. He had 10 points and 3 rebounds.

On 1-24, Hudsonville will take on Grand Haven (9-2, OK-Red) as they look to build off this victory. Flint Carman will play Davison (7-4, SVC) on 1-24 as they will try to get their record above .500.
