#6 Brother Rice downs #8 Liggett, sets up rematch in final with #1 St. Mary’s Prep.

Senior Robert Klann led the way for the Warriors as they defeated the Knights 5-1 in game three of the four game CHSL semi final slate Friday at Comerica Park.

The right hander tossed seven innings of one run ball and totaled 10 strikeouts to boot. He was named our G Brand G of the Game.

Liggett sent out Michigan commit Kurt Barr to start, but the Brother Rice bats roughed the senior up early to put the game out of reach. Barr ended with double digit Ks as well, but gave up five runs in the second and third inning to seal the Knights fate.

Sophomore Ryan Tyranski knocked in two of those five runs with a triple in the third inning, as well as getting on base in the second with a walk.

He was the offensive player of the game for the Warriors.

For the Knights, Michigan commit and Kurt’s younger brother Preston Barr knocked in their only run with an RBI single in the sixth inning. That was the only run the Knights could muster though.

With the win, Bob Riker and the Warriors will move on to the Bishop final in a rematch of last year's final against #1 St. Mary’s Prep. The Warriors will attempt to flip the script of that game and the regular season this year, as they have lost all of those matchups against the Eaglets. Brother Rice will have home field advantage as the showdown will take place at Warrior Complex in Troy on Tuesday at 5:30 pm ET. Stay tuned for our coverage of that matchup.
