Eagles Take Lead Late to Overcome De La Salle

On Saturday, the Grand Rapids Christian Eagles (8-2, OK-White) defeated the Warren De La Salle Pilots (7-5, CHSL-C) by a score of 63-58.

This was an exciting and tightly played game. Throughout, we saw 8 ties and 5 lead changes. The Eagles and Pilots went back and forth down the court.

As the game went on, it was clear that neither team, was about to give in. The two teams went into the half tied at 28.

The second half remained at the same pace. Both sides tallying points, not letting the other side open a big lead. Neither team had a double-digit lead at any point in this game.

With 2:54 left in the game, Grand Rapids Christian took the lead, as they had many times previously. But this time, they held on and pulled out the victory. They went on to win 63-58.

The GBrand G of the game was given to Jaylan Ouwinga. He was 5 of 10 from the floor, including 2 of 3 from long range. He also was 4 of 7 from the free throw line. He had 16 points, 10 rebounds, a block, an assist, and a steal.

On 1-24, Grand Rapids Christian will play Greenville (5-6, OK-White) as they look to get an in-conference victory. De La Salle will play Lake Orion (6-3, OAA-White) as they look to bounce back from this loss.
