#1 St. Mary’s Prep. will try to make it 16 in a row on the year against #10 Detroit Country Day

After sweeping their weekend in Cleveland, the 15-0, number one overall team in the country, the Eaglets, will head to Beverly Hills, MI, to face off against the #10 ranked team in the state, the Yellowjackets, who are 10-3 on the year so far.

The Eaglets will send out freshman Paul Toovalian for his first start of the season.

The young right hander has pitched in two innings this year and has recorded six strikeouts to go with a 3.50 earned run average and a 1.000 WHIP. Toovalian possesses a fastball that can reach the mid 80s with a 1,867 spin rate. He also has a curveball that hangs around the high 60s and low 70s in his bag.

For the Yellowjackets, fellow underclassmen Tyler Inge will be on the mound to start.

The sophomore Michigan commit is a right hander with a fastball that sits in the lower 80s to go along a curveball that hangs in the mid 60s. When Inge is not on the mound, he is busy plugging up the middle infield for DCD at either second or shortstop.

On the offensive side, a player to watch for the Eagles is junior Tennessee commit Blake Grimmer. Grimmer has been on a tear recently and does not look to be slowing down anytime soon. He mashed two home runs last week to move his season total to five to complement a .545 batting average and 23 RBIs.

On the other hand for DCD, senior all around player Brandon Mann will be a guy to keep an eye on. Mann has appeared on the mound, in the infield, and in the outfield this year for the Yellowjackets. The three star quarterback who is committed to Michigan hit a solo home run and came into relief in their win over Oxford.

The Steve Lepkowski led Yellowjackets will look to stun Matt Petry and O.L.S.M. and ruin their perfect season today at their home field at 5 P.M. ET, the broadcast link can be found here: https://youtu.be/Od6_vghbrZ4.
