#1 St. Mary’s Prep. pursuing wins eight and nine in double header against #3 Brother Rice

After handling #9 Hartland six to zero yesterday, O.L.S.M. will try to continue their seven game win streak on the road in a top three in-state matchup against the eight win and two loss Warriors.

The Warriors will send out right hander Robert Klann this afternoon. The senior has given up zero earned runs on the season. He has a fastball that can reach the lower 90s as well as a slider and a changeup.

On the other side, the Eaglets will send out seniors Brock Porter and Ciaran Caughey. The right hander Porter is one of the top pitching prospects in the entire country. The Clemson commit is projected to be a top pick in the MLB draft. He features one of the hardest fastballs in the country topping at triple digits. To go along with that, he has a great changeup and a solid curveball. Caughey is no slouch either. The Kent State commit possesses a fastball that reaches the lower 90s as well as a curveball and a changeup.

A player to watch on the Warriors side is the two way Michigan commit Alfredo Valazquez. The junior will be in the lineup and outfield today for Rice. He is averaging .267 at the plate and has driven in seven runs this year.

For the Eaglets, Auburn commit Ike Irish will attempt to continue his absurdly hot start to the season. The senior broke the game open yesterday with his seventh homerun of the year, which served as the momentum shifter in the win.

The game will be played in Troy today at 4 P.M. ET. The link for the broadcast can be found on the Brother Rice athletic website and here: https://brrice.edu/athletics/warriorslivestream/
