The #1 ranked team in the country, the Eaglets, will look to continue their perfect season bid at home in Orchard Lake this afternoon against the Irish of Pontiac.

Senior Davenport commit Brandon Skorupski will get the start on the mound for O.L.S.M. The left hander is a perfect 4-0 this season and has struck out 34 batters in just over 20 innings pitched. His fastball hangs in the mid to lower 80s and he possesses a 12/6 curveball as well as a slider that sits in the mid 70s.

NDP has yet to announce a starter but expect that starter to be either senior Luke Babich, senior Michael Sadecki, sophomore Owen Marks, freshman Vincenzo Tartaglia or freshman Roman Cherfoli.

St. Mary’s has been on a tear at the plate this year, as they have recorded 44 long balls on the season, with the state record being 76. One of the leaders of their bomb squad, statistics wise, and one to keep an eye out for in today’s matchup is Auburn commit Ike Irish. The senior is tied for first on the team in home runs at eight, and has one of the best averages on the team at .432.

For the Irish, junior Jeremy Gale is a player that O.L.S.M. will need to take heed of. The outfielder and shortstop went two for three with a triple and three runs batted in in game two of their doubleheader against Goodrich less than two weeks ago.

Jason Gendreau and the Irish will attempt to improve their record to 9-10-1 and pull off the huge upset against Matt Petry and the Eaglets at 5 P.M. ET. The broadcast can be found on St. Mary’s website and that is linked here: https://www.stmarysprep.com/.
