After sweeping their first doubleheader matchup against the Knights, the #1 team in the country, the Eaglets, will look to do more of the same today as they host the #3 ranked team in the state.

For game one, O.L.S.M. will send out Lansing CC commit Nolan Higgins. The senior right hander will be making his fourth start of the season. So far this year, he has pitched in just over 17 innings, racking up two wins and 24 strikeouts with no losses or earned runs.

For game two, it is yet to be determined who will be taking the mound from the Eaglets, but expect that player to be either Kent State commit Ciaran Caughey, Davenport commit Brandon Skorupski, or Michigan commit Jasen Oliver.

Make it stand out On the other side for the Knights, they will have sophomore Preston Barr on the rubber to start for game one. The right handed Michigan commit is a two way player that will also bat in the lineup today as well. He utilizes an upper 80 MPH fastball along with a curveball, slider and changeup.

For game two, freshman Blake Illitch will start on the hill. The young right hander has a fastball that can reach the lower 90s along with a curveball, slider and changeup to boot. In his last start against #7 Brother Rice, he hurled a 1 hitter with six Ks.

Offensively for the Eaglets, Michigan commit Nolan Schubart will be a player to keep an eye on. The senior infielder/outfielder has seven hits that have left ball parks this season, along with 18 runs batted in and a .277 batting average.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Here is one of his seven dingers of the year, coming against De La Salle:

On the other hand, for the Knights, Michigan commit Matthew Greene will be someone the Eaglets are gameplanning for. The senior MIF had a very solid outing against Plymouth Christian Academy in late April. He went two for three on the day with a homer and two RBIs.

Dan Cimini and his squad will attempt to move to 12-5 on the season and split the season series with the perfect 23-0 Matt Petry and the Eaglets at 2 P.M. this afternoon.
