The #3 team in the state, according to The PreP, the Brother Rice Warriors, come into today’s doubleheader trying to avoid getting swept by the #1 team in the country, the Eaglets of Orchard Lake.

For game one of the doubleheader, St. Mary’s will start projected first round draft pick Brock Porter. The Clemson commit no-hit the Warriors last time they faced off and is a perfect 4-0 this season with an absurd 62 strikeouts recorded.

For game two, sophomore Parker Brzustewicz will be on the mound to begin. The right hander has a fastball that reaches the mid 80s along with a 12/6 curveball and a changeup. The underclassman is a perfect 5-0 this season, which is tied for the best in their rotation, and has produced 41 Ks to boot.

For the Warriors, senior Robert Klann will be on the rubber to start in game one. The right hander wields a fastball that can reach the lower 90s as well as changeup and a slider. During his last start against Detroit C.C, he had four punch outs in five innings of work.

For game two, right hander Ryan King will start for Brother Rice. The junior has a fastball with some sink that hangs around the lower 80s. He also uses a big curveball to complement his fastball. In game two of their doubleheader vs. C.C, he went just over six innings and did not give up a walk or a homerun.

St. Mary’s has been absolutely mashing baseballs this season, and one Eaglet batter to watch today is Michigan State commit Jake Dresselhouse. The senior has hit six homers this season to go with 21 RBIs and a .429 batting average.

On the other side, Michigan commit Alfredo Velazquez is a player that the Eaglets can’t afford to overlook. The junior went 3-4 in game two of their doubleheader against De La Salle, and all three of his hits were for two bags.

Bob Riker and the Warriors will look to avoid the season sweep and ruin Matt Petry and St. Mary’s perfect season bid this afternoon at 4 P.M. ET.  The broadcast can be found on the St. Mary’s Prep website which is linked here: https://www.stmarysprep.com/.
