GRIDIRON GAMEDAY WEEK 8 Game 2 PREVIEW

On Friday night, the Cass Tech Technicians (4-3, DPSL-B) will take on the Martin Luther King Crusaders (5-1, DPSL-B). The two teams faced off earlier this season, with King taking a 28-23 victory. 

This is the Detroit Public Schools League-Blue championship game. Martin Luther King currently sits in first place and Cass Tech is currently in second. 

The two teams have faced off 69 times in their history. King has won 38 of those games and Cass Tech has won 31 of those games. King has won each of the last three matchups. 

Martin Luther King is currently ranked 2nd in The Prep’s Metro Detroit High School Football Top 10, behind Belleville. 

King is having in incredibly dominant season. They are coming off their third consecutive shutout, having not given up a point since they last played Cass Tech on September 16th. They have outscored opponents 258-67. 

Cass Tech is currently riding a three-game winning streak. Their last loss came at the hands of King on September 16th. In their four wins this season, the Technicians have outscored their opponents 226-6. In total, they have outscored opponents 324-125. 

Both teams have proven this season that they can put a ton of points on the board, which should make for a thrilling and high-scoring championship. 

The game will be played at Wayne State University and coverage will begin live on The Prep YouTube and NFHS at 6:45 with a 7:00 kickoff.
